JKRs Light Up Bangkok, China for LingOrm Birthdays

How fitting is it that LinglingKwong and Orm Kornnaphat, the breakout stars of the 2024 hit Girls' Love series The Secret of Us, were born in the same month? For fans of the beloved pairing, fondly known as Lingorm, May 2025 brought a double dose of joy and excitement.

Known collectively as The Purple Fandom or JKRs, Lingorm fans had much to celebrate, with Ling’s birthday on May 11th and Orm’s birthday on May 27th. The result? A month-long celebration that transformed May into what many now call Lingorm Month.

From thoughtful gifts and fan projects to major advertising takeovers, the scale and creativity displayed by both solo fans and shippers were nothing short of extraordinary. In this article, we dive into why May 2025 was such a memorable chapter in the Lingorm story, starting with the older of the two stars, LinglingKwong.

LinglingKwong Turns Heads with Global Birthday Projects

If there’s one thing we’re sure of, it’s that Ling must really love cake. Reports suggest she received up to ten beautifully crafted cakes from friends, fans, and well-wishers. One especially sweet moment came when Orm presented Ling with a cake she transported from Macau to Hongkong, an affectionate gesture that warmed hearts and showcased their close bond.

Fans from around the world went above and beyond to celebrate Ling, especially her dedicated Chinese fanbase. One of the standout projects was a full BTS Skytrain wrap in Bangkok, an incredibly rare and prestigious birthday tribute. In fact, only a handful of Thai celebrities, including Win Metawin, Mew Suppasit, and Becky Armstrong (through a Maybelline collaboration), have had similar projects on the Skytrain. Ling now joins that elite list, solidifying her status as a fan favorite.

The celebrations didn’t stop there. Her Chinese fans also lit up over 1,000 digital screens across various cities in China, and displayed a 40-meter-long birthday banner in Kalasin, the place where her career first began. This was described as the longest fan art banner in Thailand’s history.

Bangkok Lights Up for LinglingKwong

In Thailand, fans kept the energy high with projects at Central World, Siam Center, and Interchange, as well as a charming Tuk Tuk parade that featured 15 tuk tuks cruising through Siam, MBK, and Yaowarat, all emblazoned with birthday wishes. Over at MCC Hall, 76 screens ran tributes to Ling for three consecutive days.

A Month of showing love: LingOrm Fanclub Lights Up Bangkok with Birthday Tributes for Ling and Orm

A fanclub dedicated to both members of the beloved on-screen couple organized a stunning birthday tribute that lit up some of Bangkok’s most iconic locations throughout the month of May 2025.

An LED screen birthday ad campaign at MBK Center, one of the busiest and most recognized shopping landmarks in central Bangkok. Known for its heavy foot traffic and popularity among locals and tourists alike, MBK Center became a glowing stage for the fan-organized display.

For two separate weeks, LingOrm’s radiant visuals lit up the LED screens, drawing the attention of thousands of shoppers and passersby. The location was carefully chosen for its visibility and significance, allowing fans to share their admiration for both stars in a high-impact, public setting.

To extend the celebration beyond the mall, the fanclub also launched a birthday E-poster campaign across three major BTS Skytrain stations, each strategically located in central Bangkok and serving as key transit points for daily commuters.

These electronic lightboxes and digital displays gave fans and commuters daily glimpses of the duo, making them almost impossible to miss. With high-frequency rotations and premium visibility, the campaign turned everyday commutes into moments of joy for fans and casual viewers alike.

Whether at a bustling shopping center or a major train station, the LingOrm fanclub’s birthday projects demonstrated not only their dedication but their ability to create unforgettable experiences in public spaces. May 2025 truly became LingOrm Month, with Bangkok itself acting as a canvas for love, celebration, and fan creativity. Lingorm’s fanbase also organized a blood donation project for fans to give back to the community.

Charity Fanmeeting

On the 17th of May, Channel 3 organized a joint birthday charity fanmeeting. The proceeds from ticket sales from the fanmeeting was donated to charity. The fanmeeting began with a joint performance from Ling and Orm and then moved to playing games with each other that had the fans screaming at the top of their voices. The girls also drew a cat and a dog, which was later auctioned to fans in a charity auction.

The stars of the day then watched a touching video made by the fans for them. Ling and Orm expressed their appreciation to fans and reiterated their commitment to acting together as a gl cp pair. Later came the big announcement that their upcoming series Only You will air in July. In the end, during a press session, Ling hinted at preparing a very important gift for Orm.

The most eye-catching part of the event were the gifts given to lingorm by their fans.

Around 20 couple fanclubs from all over the world applied to give gifts to Lingorm on the day and they were given 1 meter of space each. Aside from couple fanclubs, Lingorm’s solo fanclubs also gave eye watering gifts to show their love to their favorite idol.
